Countryside offers compact prep islands as well as larger kitchen islands with dining and storage space. For example, the Lee's Summit Butcher Block Table measures 25 by 25 inches, while the Gurdon Extendable Island offers tops ranging from 54 to 72 inches wide and 36 to 48 inches deep before its optional extensions are in use. Compare the specific model's dimensions with your floor plan and allow room to open drawers, cabinets, and any seating.

How much space should there be between the kitchen counter and island?
