One of the oldest dining table designs, the trestle table now complements a wide range of interior designs. The trestle base has two pedestals, connected by a low stretcher bar that adds strength and stability to your dining surface. Trestle style dining room tables have vertical support near the ends connected with horizontal support. One of the benefits of a pedestal or trestle table is the ability to fit more people around the table, since the legs don’t get in the way of an additional person pulling up a chair at the corners. If you normally need 8 or more chairs, we would recommend considering a large legged table.

The standard trestle table sizes range from 36-48” in width and 60-78” in length depending on the piece; generally, the center leaves are 12”.
- What are trestle legs?
In addition to standard table legs, trestle tables feature two "props,” or trestle legs, with a long piece of wood stretching in between. This stretcher between the trestles can take on many forms: large, small, plain, ornate, almost touching the table top, or practically resting on the floor.
