The short answer is: YES.
Below is everything you need to know before obtaining a stain match.
At Countryside, we want your handmade Amish furniture to be in your family for generations. We encourage you to have it as you like it. Stain matching is available for just this reason. Countryside is your home for authentic, custom Amish furniture from the heart of Amish Country.
When making your purchase, define the primary stain. Later in the check-out, you’ll be asked to detail Special Instructions. Use this field to document the second stain. Don’t worry, a representative will then be in touch to confirm all elements of your orders. Upcharges for two-tone finishes are applied at the time of order processing (10% upcharge for two stains/20% upcharge for one stain and one paint).
At Countryside, a "specialty finish" is any finish that incorporates two tones, two woods, distressing, glazing, rub through, paint, brush marks, or a low sheen. You will find our specialty finishes listed with our regular stains with a green banner indicating the percentage of the upcharge associated with that finish. An upcharge is necessary due to the additional steps added to our typical finishing process in order to achieve the look you prefer. This percentage is based on the price of your piece and ranges from 10-30% depending on the complexity of the process. All finishes will be topped with a conversion varnish to protect your furniture no matter which type of stain or paint you choose.
To order a specialty finish, simply choose your wood species. Then, choose the finish you prefer. Samples may be requested at check out and if you wish to combine two stains not listed, you may also mention that in the comments at checkout.
What finish is used?
At Countryside, every piece of furniture is finished with the gold standard of fine furniture finish - Catalyzed Conversion Varnish.
Is it durable?
After the finish is fully cured, your varnish will provide long-term durability making your handmade furniture resistant to things such as water or a sweating glass, low heat, humidity, certain chemicals, cooking residue, and overall wear over time. While not indestructible, your Amish-made furniture will resist scratching and marring.
Is it safe?
Catalyzed Conversion Varnish meets federal standards for Low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Hazardous Air Pollutants Standards (HAPS) to ensure the product we use is safe for your family.

Yes! Our Amish craftsmen can modify the majority of our bed frame bases to help fit a Tempur-Pedic or similar mattress. Most adjustable mattresses with platforms can be placed inside a freestanding, hardwood bed frame (when slats are removed). We'll even provide you with the slats unattached in case you decide to use them at a later date.
Keep in mind, if the bed you are interested in has a platform or drawers, it would not be compatible with a free-standing mattress as it needs to be able to reach the floor directly.
To get started, please contact us via the Live Chat or email with the overall dimensions of your mattress and platform unit. Our sales staff can then verify if a standard bed will accommodate it, or if any modifications will need to be made.
Once confirmed, feel free to complete your order, remembering to include details under Special Requirements."
Altering the dimensions of our chairs is not recommended, as it can significantly compromise their ergonomic design, leading to increased discomfort. Most items, like dressers, desks, sideboards, chairs, etc., will arrive at your home or office pre-assembled. Some pieces of furniture like beds, pedestal tables, feet, and legs need a 1/2 inch wrench or socket to assemble. Furniture like hutches and mirrors for dressers need to be attached with a phillips screwdriver. Assembly takes minutes and the joy will last for generations!

The construction and finishing of our products differs from other furniture manufacturers. Our products are not mass-produced in a large furniture factory, but in small Amish-owned woodworking shops. We're a small family-owned business, and we value working with other family-owned establishments.

Yes! Amish does indeed mean Amish-made. Our artisans use time-tested construction methods and generations of expertise. There are three factors that go into our ability to produce original Amish furniture with premium quality:
Countryside sources only new growth forests for our solid wood furniture. This means that virgin forests are not destroyed or damaged and trees of significant size and age are protected. Further, sourcing only managed lands ensures enough old growth range exists to sustain wildlife, wilderness areas, and hiking trails. The irony of these efforts is that by managing the trees properly, limbs can be removed as the hardwoods grow which actually produces a higher quality wood for furniture making purposes. Extricated trees are then replaced after the soil has rested and is ready to produce another tree. Constantly observing the life cycles of these plants ensures not only their viability, but also that erosion, fire, and damaging insects can be averted.
Not all our stains, paints, finishes, and varnishes are organic, but they are "green". This simply means that every finish we use meets federal standards for Volatile Organic Compounds and Hazardous Air Pollutants. Details about our catalyzed conversion varnish top coat can be found here. Organic finishes are available on many of our items. No matter which finish you choose, your furniture from Countryside will not harm your home environment or the planet.
The curing process allows the furniture finish to fully develop its strength, hardness, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. Airflow is critical at this time and ensures the finish is able to crosslink with the oxygen in the air.
Every piece of furniture offered by Countryside is finished using a Catalyzed Conversion Varnish. This durable finish ensures your furniture will hold up to everyday use and is resistant to wear, residue, and moisture.

Some of our cribs can be made from organic, chemical-free materials.
This particular finish does not have a gloss build up and will not come with color options. Also, this organic finish isn't a sealant like our other standard finishes. There will likely be porous areas in the wood on your crib. With the organic finish, your new crib will have the look of natural wood. Cherry, Hard Maple, and Oak will be the recommended wood types to use, due to the less porous nature of these.
Whether you select Organic or Standard methods, your baby furniture will meet or exceed all the requirements set by the federal safety guidelines.
