Reclaimed and Salvaged Barnwood Furniture

Reclaimed wood furniture is a style to be treasured.

Whether chosen for its conservation element, durability, strength, or beauty, reclaimed hardwood provides a rustic look that almost seamlessly blends into your living space. It injects a sense of character with its own unique story into your space using beautiful textures, color variances, and random knots.

What Is Reclaimed Wood?

Reclaimed hardwood is high-quality upcycled material that has been taken from various sources such as:

  • Barns
  • Houses
  • Sheds
  • Factories
  • Warehouses

These structures are disassembled piece by piece so that the most precious natural resource – the wood, can be reclaimed. After the structure is disassembled, the wood is hauled to the lumber handling yard where it undergoes an extensive cleaning and drying process. Nails are marked and removed, and the wood is placed under a metal detector, then stacked for drying. Then, the salvaged hardwood kiln-dried to 7% moisture.

Things like wood grains, knots, small patches, pitting, small nail holes and color streaking are characteristics that really set individual lumber and overall furniture pieces apart. Any variance that adds interest to the piece can be considered a plus.

The barnwood process is an excellent green way to preserve the old and vintage and give the precious American hardwood a second life.

  • When it’s harvested responsibly, reclaimed wood is a renewable resource that reduces landfill waste.
  • Every piece of salvaged hardwood is different and cannot be replicated.
  • Reclaimed wood furniture looks equally as good in both traditional and contemporary spaces.

Amish made reclaimed wood furniture is a rustic, unique, and historic way to way to enhance the beauty of your home and show off your personal taste.
