Do Countryside’s four-poster beds work with a mattress and box spring?

Many do of our four-poster beds are compatible with common mattress types. However, we don't recommend that you assume that every four-post or canopy-style frame we offer is indeed suitable for your specific mattress type. Talk with our sales team during using the Live Chat if you are curious about a specific bed-and-mattress combination.

Can I order a four-poster bed with an upholstered headboard?

Yes. Countryside offers upholstered four-post designs alongside traditional all-wood frames. For example, the Parkersburg Four-Post Bed features an upholstered arched headboard with fabric choices, while the Lakewood Upholstered Post Bed has a leather inset. Better still, Countryside Amish Furniture can send textile samples so you can find the best shades and patterns for your bedroom.

What kind of joinery does Countryside use on its solid wood four-poster beds?

Staying true to the Amish woodcrafting principles our workshops use only the most trusted, reliable techniques to build the four-poster beds. For instance, the Cascade Locks Pencil Post Bed uses mortise-and-tenon joinery and dovetailed wooden slats secured to the side rails, while the Darien Poster Bed uses dowel joinery and dovetailed slats.

Can I pair my four poster bed frame with coordinating dressers and bedroom furniture?

Our four poster beds often anchor full bedroom furniture sets (listed on the product pages), all sharing similar design elements. Even if your favorite four poster bed frame isn't available as part of a formalized set, our team can show multiple examples of dressers, cheffrobes, and other bedroom staples that closely align with the chosen aesthetic.

Can I modify the height of the bed’s four posts?

At Countryside Amish Furniture, every four poster bed is meticulously crafted to order, granting us the flexibility to accommodate unique requests beyond the standard customization options listed. Whether you desire alterations in post height, tailored designs to fit specialty mattresses, integration of convenient storage drawers, or the application of specialty stains, we're dedicated to bringing your vision to life. These are just a few examples of the possibilities we can explore together. Reach out to us via Live Chat or give us a call to delve deeper into personalizing your four poster bed. Through our consultation, we'll assess the feasibility of your desired changes and ensure your ultimate satisfaction with the final product.

What is a four poster bed?

Are four poster beds still in style?
