This practical cabinet-table solution easily converts from a compact buffet or console into a spacious dining table, making it ideal for kitchens, tight dining rooms, or any area where flexible seating is needed. Each pull out dining table is handcrafted by Amish artisans using hardwoods such as red oak, white oak, cherry, brown maple, walnut, and more. Every wood selection offers dozens of staining options, allowing you to coordinate your cabinet with the rest of your dining furniture. Built for lasting strength, these pull out tables are carefully constructed to ensure smooth, effortless movement during their conversion from kitchen console to dining table. For added practicality, many of the designs accommodate extension leaves that can be hidden in the cabinet when not in use. Our highly customizable pull out dining tables and cabinets are perfect for maximizing space and functionality. Whether you need a hidden dining table for occasional gatherings or a versatile console for everyday use, these Amish-built pieces combine the storing ability of a buffet with the convenience of a dining table that occupies minimal space.

Can I order a Countryside drop leaf table with extra center leaves?

Yes, on selected drop leaf table designs. The Emelle Drop Leaf Table has two attached 12-inch drop leaves and can accept up to four additional removable center leaves. The Taunton Drop Leaf Table offers an optional center leaf as well. Those extra leaves are separate from the hinged sides and aren't available for every drop leaf table. Choose the extension configuration when ordering; additional leaves generally cannot be purchased later.

What’s the difference between a drop leaf table and a gateleg table?

What's the difference between a drop leaf table and a gateleg table?
Both designs have a fixed tabletop section with one or two hinged leaves that fold down to save space. On a traditional drop leaf dining table, brackets or other supports hold the raised leaves in place. A gateleg table uses legs that swing out beneath the leaves for support. Countryside offers drop leaf tables with different base configurations, so review the individual model to see how its leaves are supported.

What is a drop leaf dining table and how does it work?

Derived from the classic gateleg table design, drop leaf tables have one fixed table top section and typically one or two hinged surfaces. When lifted into place, these hinged sections extend the table top; a drop leaf dining room table will typically have a square or rectangular top shape. If the leaves are supported by brackets, it is simply a drop-leaf table. If the leaves are supported by a set of legs that swing out, it would be called a gate leg table.

How do I know if a drop leaf dining table set is the right option for a smaller room?

Using a drop leaf table as your kitchen or breakfast table, entry console, sofa table, or even desk gives you maximum flexibility. Keep your table’s leaves dropped to save space, and fold them out only when needed. You can also fold out just one leaf while keeping the other leaf dropped flush against a wall. Drop leaf tables also expand easily because the leaves are permanently attached. The ability to use a piece of furniture in a variety of rooms and with a variety of uses makes the solid wood investment well worth it.

What shapes are drop leaf tables available in?

Despite their traditional appeal, drop leaf tables are designed to suit virtually any taste and space. If you don’t frequently entertain, make the most of your dining room constraints with a compact square drop-leaf. For tight corners, narrow spaces, and awkward angles, a slim rectangle drop-leaf table that can be pushed flush against the wall will provide the best space saving solution. Finally, round drop leaf tables evoke a cozy, classic vibe so guests can simply pull up a chair around the open edges. These space-saving tables are available with a number of base types including standard legs, a pedestal, or trestle.
