Heirloom Quality American Table

Your Barnsdall Pedestal Table is pictured in a Brown Maple with an optional two-tone finish: the table top is stained in Sand Dollar and the base in Devonshire. This elegant round wood pedestal table features an elaborate pedestal that is French Country and a prominent steam-bent apron. In any of the nine wood species, this dining table is a welcome addition to more formal kitchens or dining rooms.

Choose the solid wood from which your Barnsdall Pedestal Table will be made as well as your size, leaves, and stain and our Amish artisans will handcraft it to order. Since each table is built using mortise and tenon joinery, you can rest assured your table will last a lifetime.

This type of customer service is rare to find these days. When I received my table, I was so impressed with the quality and finish. SIZE: My wife and I love our table. We're a large, nuclear family (four children). We eat together at least once a day; we play lots of board games, and there's lots of homework! Our extended family lives nearby so we wanted a table large enough to seat them. Once the two leaves are out, we can seat 10 comfortably. (Maybe 12 ... if they really like their neighbors.) STYLE: We liked this table for its simplicity and traditional Japanese (through tenon and trestle legs) look. Our children tend to make lots of messes so working around the feet is easy (Roomba is more thorough as well). We also like the ability to fit chairs where the legs rest, comfortably. FIT FINISH: The table is well made. The finish is even, hard, and beautiful. We chose Oak with Winter Bark to contrast our natural hickory floors. I have two complaints. The first is the joinery where the two edges meet in the middle. There's a slight bow in the middle which causes a 1/16th gap on each end. Not a huge deal, and to be expected from handmade furniture. My second issue is the through tenon. It's not real. The ends are faux covers to hide the bolts that hold the table together. The description even states "mortise & tenon trestle". I may end up making my own someday when the warranty and kids are gone. COMPANY: They're very communicative and friendly. The delivery company set up the table and made sure it was level and we were happy. We'll be buying from them again.
