The construction and finishing of our products differs from other furniture manufacturers. Our products are not mass-produced in a large furniture factory, but in small Amish-owned woodworking shops. We're a small family-owned business, and we value working with other family-owned establishments.

There are three factors that go into our ability to produce original Amish furniture with premium quality:

1. Culture & Experience

Countryside's Owner, Mel Stutzman, was raised Amish in a three-generation family business. He has years of experience starting off at the bottom of the ladder as a sander and gradually moving to finishing. Eventually he found himself the shop foreman, which lead him to the custom Amish-style cabinetry business. His hands-on learning experience has given him an intimate understanding of the Amish community and Amish business owners. This has allowed him to handpick the 50-plus small, legitimate Amish workshops where Countryside's furniture is handcrafted. It also allows him to communicate with the workshops with mutual respect and an expert level of knowledge of the building process and strictly hold them to a higher standard of excellence.

2. High Standards

There is nothing more important to Mel than quality. All of our furniture is handcrafted strictly using solid wood construction. Each piece of wood in a piece of furniture is literally hand-selected by our craftsmen and critiqued to make sure it fits with the piece and our high level of quality. After our craftsmen have built the original piece, it is then sent to our finishing shop. Having one location for finishing allows us to guarantee that each piece has a consistent stain, and provides one more level of quality control, something that may not be present in another Amish furniture location. The human eye and hand has judged each piece of furniture hundreds of times before it arrives to our customer's door.

3. Personalized Service

We pride ourselves on customers becoming a part of our family. Even though you can order your piece of Amish-style furniture online, we work with our customers on a one-on-one basis to make sure it is to the exact specifications and customization they desire. We are available Monday through Friday to answer your questions and assist you with your order of authentic Amish furniture.
