What is the perfect bookcase? The answer varies from one room to the next. Perhaps it’s a contemporary ladder shelving unit, or a classic piece enclosed with glass doors. However, defining the perfect bookcase comes down to more than the structure and style, as the dimensions themselves have to be just right in relation to the space.
To help homeowners in their hunt, we compiled some of our favorite bookcases that are 36” to 40” wide (about three feet). Each bookcase we show is made to order, meaning that you get to choose the specific wood and stain. See a silhouette you like but wish it was offered in brown maple with a blue finish? Our Amish woodworkers will make it happen.
