The family-owned company was founded in 2010 by Mel Stutzman in Arthur, Illinois, in the heart of Illinois Amish country. Every piece is built after it is ordered, in the customer's choice of wood, stain, size and options, and delivered with in-home setup anywhere in the contiguous United States for a flat $150. ## Key facts - Made to order: nothing ships from a warehouse. Each piece is built for the customer in the wood species, stain or paint, size, hardware and (for upholstered pieces) fabric or leather they choose. Product pages show a "starting at" price; wood and option choices change the price. - Lead time, from order to delivery: most indoor furniture 12-18 weeks; outdoor furniture 6-10 weeks; some toy and storage pieces 1-2 weeks. Each product page states its estimated lead time. Stain or paint matching adds 2-4 weeks ($200 stain match, $300 paint match). - Delivery: $150 flat rate, including inside delivery and setup, anywhere in the contiguous US. Delivery is scheduled with the customer and typically happens 1-3 weeks after the furniture is finished; customers are contacted when their furniture is about 7-21 days from delivery. - Returns: because every piece is made to order, Countryside does not accept returns. - Warranty (The Countryside Guarantee): if furniture fails because of a defect in workmanship, Countryside repairs or replaces it for one year after the original invoice date (shipping costs excluded). An order that arrives different from how it was ordered is corrected. Normal wear, misuse, alteration, commercial use and humidity outside 35-45% are excluded. - Woods: oak (red oak, quartersawn white oak), cherry, maple (hard, brown and tiger maple), walnut, hickory, elm, and rustic options such as reclaimed oak and rough-sawn maple.
