What is the ordering process?
Your Idea becomes a Design
When you order from Countryside Amish Furniture, you are the designer of your very own customized piece. Select your favorite wood species, size specifications, and request samples of finishes to view in person. Countryside doesn’t have a warehouse filled with tables, chairs, and beds collecting dust just waiting to be sold. Your furniture begins as a raw piece of lumber waiting to be crafted specifically for you. Because your furniture is designed by you and truly unique, we would not be able to sell it to another customer. For this reason, all sales are final.
Your Design becomes an Order
When you purchase from Countryside, you are investing both time and money in a beautiful piece of furniture that will be in your family for generations. Once your order is placed, parts are ordered and the lumber is selected. We will then send you four wood color chip samples of your choosing to examine and match to your original idea. At the time of ordering, we will also ask for your first payment. In the initial transaction, half of the payment is made when your order is placed. The final payment is collected from the credit card provided when your furniture is finished and ready for packaging, about two to three weeks before you receive it.
Your Order becomes Furniture
Amish craftsmen take pride in their work, which means they take the necessary time to build a quality piece for you. Taking the time to do things right means that it will take 10 to 14 weeks to complete your order. Investing your time means waiting while your piece is being crafted. Please remember, “Good things come to those who wait." Since your furniture is handmade, the first half of the 10-14 week processing time is spent making the piece. Around the seventh week of production, your piece is ready to be stained. Stain selection, however, is requested within two weeks of your initial order.
Your Furniture is “Finished”
After your item is stained, the finish has to cure. All of the stain on our furniture is hand rubbed and finished with a catalyzed varnish to ensure years of beauty. Although the finish on your furniture will be dry to the touch in about four hours, it actually takes 30 days for the finish to fully cure and be durable. Additionally, all finishes emit an odor, and it will take two to three weeks from the time of finishing for the bulk of that odor to dissipate.

After your furniture is packaged, you might guess that we load it onto an Amish buggy and send it on a long, slow trek to you. On the contrary, Countryside offers Signature Inside Delivery.
