Easy Crunchy Fall Treat: Granola!
Granola is one of our favorite recipes to make in our Countryside Amish family! Who doesn't like a crunchy and sweet treat that not only can it be loaded with protein or omega 3, but it can basically be served in many delightful ways. We like to have them in bars with a nice glass of milk, but feel free to serve it with yogurt, fruit, or even on an acai bowl.
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1/3 cup flaxseed meal
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 TBSP chai seeds
- 1/2 cup raisins, optional
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds, optional
*Storing in the refrigerator is the best option if not eaten within a few days.
Beat together the first set of ingredients. Add the next set and mix until well combined. Spread in a greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 325° for approximately 25 minutes or until the top is slightly brown. Do not overbake.
